THE PRIMARY PURPOSE of the school is to meet the needs of the children in Tirana who require this type of education with a view to continuing their education in their home countries with a minimum of adjustment problems. This program is also offered to Albanian citizens who seek this education with a view to higher studies outside of Albania. In addition to its scholastic goals, the school endeavours to provide its students with a knowledge of Albania.

THE CURRICULUM includes English (reading, grammar, composition, keyboarding, and spelling), mathematics, cultural studies (history, geography, economics, etc.), science, computer literacy, art, music, and physical education as part of the regular program. Intensive English classes are provided for those with a limited knowledge of the English language. Extra activities are offered several days a week. Textbooks are loaned to students without charge. Tirana International School, is a private non-profit institution that opened in September of 1991, offers high quality education in the English language for elementary and secondary students from 3 years through 17 years of age. The school facilities are located in converted residences inside a residential compound. The facilities are adequate for the current enrolment, and there is sufficient playground space for the students. Teachers live in nearby housing.

The school's educational philosophy, which includes a personalized approach to instruction, leads to teaching for mastery.  We believe in success for all students. We seek to create a positive learning environment since we believe a child learns more if he enjoys his learning experience
